There was much media fuss over Miranda Kerr getting naked for Rolling Stone magazine, but it surely won’t have escaped the attention of many that, bare as she was, her modesty remained strategically in tact. Given that Terry Richardson is the photographer, the same can’t be said of the 2010 Pirelli Calendar. In it we’ll be seeing more of Miranda than before, not to mention the naked figures of a whole host of other world-class models including Catherine McNeil, Daisy Lowe, and Abbey Lee Kershaw.

At the beginning of the week, Gucci’s creative director Frida Giannini looked to celebrate her most recent take at the Japanese Fashion Editors Club for International Designer of the Year. Together with much of Japan’s fashion elite and accompanied by infamous party photographer Mark the Cobrasnake, Frida and company took to nightclub hotspot Le Baron.

Megalopolis Shanghai by Horst and Daniel Zielske

In this series of pictures, the two photographers – father and son – present Shanghai between fiction and reality as the ‘city of tomorrow’. The focal point of their photographic work is the architecture of the city’s streets, a critical investigation and analysis encompassing the subject of urban landscape. In a long-term project begun in November 2002, they have been documenting the metropolis Shanghai as an urban composition, a man-made architectural living space and enviroment of unprecedented and unimaginably gigantic dimensions. The resulting images are of immense visual beauty.

It looks like German camera specialists Leica is preparing for a limited edition launch of their M8 camera in an all-white version. The specifics regarding a price point or even production numbers are uncertain at this point although the features look to be the same without any added changes other than the color scheme.
