In Europe SNEAKERNESS is the most comprehensive event as far as sneakers are concerned. It provides an international stage for sneaker culture, space to encounter sneaker aficionados and an interested audience, as well as an authentic setting for sneaker and lifestyle brands. On October 10 2009 SNEAKERNESS will take place in Austria for the first time.

For the ones they are simply trainers, but for the others they are THE object of desire, a passion, a fetish and a cultural good. For the latter, SNEAKERNESS is going to be THE must-see event where they can unrestrainedly abandon themselves to vice with like-minded people. Nevertheless, also ordinary trainer-wearers are very welcome to come and assure themselves on-site that sneakers are so much more than just footwear for the daily routine. Collectors, traders, manufacturers, heads and many, many more…all under one roof! But never call em shoes.

No matter if Nike, Adidas, New Balance or Puma – it’s all about sneakers. SNEAKERNESS is the first Austrian event for all enthusiasts and fans. There sneakers can be traded, sold or bought at one of the stalls of the hippest Austrian sneaker shops. Rarities, collaborations, exhibitions, exclusive models, lacing schools, art workshops and further specials like sneaker giant Bobbito Garcia aka Kool Love from NYC are reason enough to highlight Saturday, October 10 2009, with a big red pencil.

BOBBITO GARCIA aka Bob Kool Love coined hip hop lastingly as member of the legendary Rock Steady Crew – the founders and ambassadors of breakdance culture. In the years between 1990 and 1998 Garcia discovered and advanced artists like Nas, Big Pun, Wu-Tang Clan, Big L and the Fugees in his radio show The Stretch Armstrong and Bobbito Show – according to the hip hop periodical The Source “The best HipHop Radio Show of all time“. Furthermore, he is the publisher and editor and the streetball magazine Bounce, author of the highly-acclaimed sneaker encyclopaedia “Where’d you get those?”: New York City’s Sneaker Culture 1960 – 1987” and host of the ESPN TV show “It’s the Shoes”. For the 25th anniversary of Nike’s Air Force 1 Garcia designed seven models.
